Adem's Journey with Leather:

Our journey begins with Adem, our skilled artisan and team leader, who carries a rich family legacy in the world of leather. Dating back to 1966, when Adem was just 11 years old, his father worked as a shoe repairman, laying the foundation for their shared passion. A pivotal moment arose when Adem's uncle returned to their hometown after four years at a workshop in Istanbul. The union of their skills and ambitions led to the establishment of their own leather workshop in 1980.

During school holidays, as a young child, Adem labored alongside his father, immersing himself in the art of leathercraft. These formative experiences marked the inception of his educational journey with leather. Even at such a tender age, Adem found joy in the art of shoe dyeing, honing his skills and seeking guidance from seasoned shoe painters who eagerly shared their knowledge with a curious six or seven-year-old.

This journey continued throughout Adem's high school years. However, upon reaching the juncture of higher education, his family encouraged him to pursue an undergraduate degree and explore alternative paths beyond their craft.

Despite embarking on a university education, Adem's passion for working with leather beckoned him irresistibly. He joined his brother's leather bag workshop in Istanbul, recognizing it as the best pursuit of his talents. To his amazement, progress came naturally, and his skills in leatherwork flourished.

After seven years of collaborating with his brother in the leather bag industry, Adem yearned to forge his own path. The demand for handmade watch straps began to emerge among their clientele, redirecting his focus and compelling him to delve into the intricate art of watch strap making. Devoting his undivided attention to this newfound niche, Adem established his own leather workshop.

As days turned into months, Adem's craftsmanship in handcrafted watch straps reached new heights. It was during this time that he noticed the absence of high-quality leather watch cases in the market, prompting him to embark on their creation. The exceptional feedback received for these watch cases further cemented Bosphorus Leather's reputation.

Combining techniques from shoemaking, bag making, and leather jacket crafting, we have developed a unique synthesis that enables us to design intricate and multifaceted leather products. Before discussing product care, it's important to note that genuine leather may exhibit natural characteristics such as veins and wrinkles on the surface, which are not imperfections but rather authentic features of the material.

GENERAL CARE INSTRUCTIONS

To ensure the longevity of your Bosphorus Leather product, please follow these general care guidelines:

1. Keep your product away from alcohol, alcohol-containing substances, sanitizers, water, oil, prolonged humidity, direct heat, and dusty areas. Avoid exposing your product to extreme temperatures, as this can damage the leather and fade the dye. Should you notice a stain, refrain from using chemicals, solvents, or everyday household items such as soap or lotion. Extended contact between light-colored clothing and leather products may cause slight color transfers.
2. Handle your product with care to prevent scratches or damage. Avoid placing it on rough or uneven surfaces. Prolonged contact with dark or colorful materials may result in color transfer, so it's best to keep your product away from such materials.

SPECIFIC LEATHER TYPES AND CARE

1.Patina Leather and Ostrich Leather:

• Keep these products away from the conditions and materials mentioned in the general care guidelines.
• Patina leather develops a unique vintage appearance over time due to hand-dying. If it gets wet, let it dry naturally without using any cloth. To remove dust, use a soft cloth or velvet.
• For stains, gently clean with a soft shoe brush and avoid using chemical cleaners or solvents.

Vegetable Tanned (Natural Colored) Leather:

• Follow the general care guidelines and keep the leather away from the specified conditions.
• Blot water immediately with a lint-free, absorbent cloth. If the leather absorbs water, allow it to dry naturally.
• Over time, natural leather develops natural effects, veins, wrinkles, scratches, and may darken slightly, adding to its vintage appearance.

Saffiano Leather:

• Adhere to the general care guidelines and avoid the specified conditions.
• Blot water with a lint-free, absorbent soft cloth (preferably 100% cotton).
• Clean with a slightly dampened soft cloth and finish with a clean, dry cotton cloth. Prevent contact with other colorful products that may cause color migration.

Natural Suede Leather:

• Keep suede products away from the specified conditions.
• When suede encounters water, allow it to dry naturally without blotting.
• To maintain the velvety texture, remove surface dust with a soft sponge or brush. Stains can be erased using a rubber brush.

CARE FOR BOSPHORUS SNEAKERS

Bosphorus Sneakers are meticulously crafted and hand-dyed, resulting in unique and unseen colors. To ensure the longevity of your sneakers, please follow these care instructions:

Resting: Provide ample resting time for your sneakers to maintain their initial shape and condition. Alternate between wearing Bosphorus sneakers and other shoes, and store them with shoe trees in a dry place during their off days.
Avoid water, chemicals, and erosive materials: Keep your sneakers away from water, solvents, sanitizers, and materials that may cause stains or scratches. If your sneakers get wet, allow them to air dry naturally. For mud stains, let the mud dry before gently removing it with a soft shoe brush.
Cleaning: Do not wash your sneakers with water, either by machine or soaking. Use a shoe polish for color restoration and apply in circular motions. Clean the non-leather sole with a damp cloth and mild soapy water, keeping it away from the leather portion to avoid color loss.

Due to the bespoke nature of our creations, production time may take approximately 2-4 weeks. REFUND POLICY

The Refund Policy of Bosphorus is “ so simple ”, “ quite basic” ! No need to bear around the rush with chic, fancy and long sentences that get you bored!

Just we need your unpackaging video record! We advise that when you receive the consignment, please take a video record as you open up the package of the consignment of the delivery company. That method facilitates the job of both of us!

If you were not able to take a video record, please send us photos of the item that shows default or defaults in reasonable day. Let's imagine that you are in hectic days and you were not able to send the photos of the product. Calm down, we can easily notice our faults when you provide the clear photos and compensate for them! If you are able to prove the Bosphorus Leather item has a default; rest assured, we will send out a new one to your address or refund immediately.

The “Warranty Policy” of Bosphorus Leather is quite simple as its Refund Policy. Bosphorus Leather Warranty shall cover all products and shall remain valid for a period of two(2) years as from the date on which the “Buyer” received the “Product”.

Throughout the period of warranty, Bosphorus Leather undertakes to replace at no extra cost all “Products” which the “Buyer” declares faulty, as well as to repair any operational malfunction detected and declared by the “Buyer”.

In all cases, Bosphorus Leather reserves the right to verify by any means or method, any default detected by the “Buyer”, without hindrance from the “Buyer” to the persons assigned by Bosphorus Leather to carry out such verification.
